Really like the MAC and would love to keep this one, it\u2019s really cute&#8230;BUT, I have a \u2018mission\u2019, and that is to do a restoration online, for whatever reasons. This beauty of a bike is just too good to start doing a full restoration on! It runs fine, looks good and will, no doubt, give its new owner many years of loyal service and great pleasure.<\/p>\n<p>How things change&#8230;I must move on to other, rustier, things and I have \u2018come across\u2019 a number of alternatives&#8230;the most tempting of which is another Velocette, this time in \u2018just the right\u2019 condition, so almost all there and very much in need of TLC.<\/p>\n<p>Not just any old Velo, though&#8230; This one is a so-called \u2018cammy\u2019 Velocette, a 1937 KSS, which is a 350 but with a single overhead cam instead of pushrods. The frame is a bit different to the MAC, being the same as the one for the prewar MSS, its bigger, 500cc, pushrod brother.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/classicbikenut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/kss-002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-547 aligncenter\" alt=\"kss 002\" src=\"http:\/\/classicbikenut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/kss-002-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"520\" height=\"389\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/classicbikenut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/kss-003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-548 aligncenter\" alt=\"kss 003\" src=\"http:\/\/classicbikenut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/kss-003-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"520\" height=\"389\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/classicbikenut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/kss-006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-549 aligncenter\" alt=\"kss 006\" src=\"http:\/\/classicbikenut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/kss-006-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"520\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nNow THAT\u2019s a bit more like it! Not quite a pile of bits, but that wouldn\u2019t take long to organise! The main thing is that it really does need a lot of attention and that the difference between \u2018before\u2019 and \u2018after\u2019 will be easily discernible, even to the \u2018untrained\u2019 eye.<\/p>\n<p>The scale of the bike is also only just a tad larger (physically) and so better fitting to my own frame for long-distance comfort (which I will need on the long journey that is intended at the end of the refit).
